Voltage is a three piece metal band from Rialto, CA. The members in the group are Izzy (vocals/guitar), Alexi (drums), and Anissah (Bassists). Alexi seen Izzy playing at a diy show with his old band Nostalgia and a year later they started a band together. Most of their music is inspired by the band Motionless In White, but their sound goes broader from that “it sounds cliche but I think we’re a bit different than the average metal/punk band locally” says Alexi. Since Izzy was inspired by Motionless In White he also dresses up whenever they play shows. You can see him dressed up as The Exorcist, Jigsaw from the movie “Saw”, Carrie, and many other horror films. Slipknot was who drove Izzy to have crazy crowds and wild energy. As for Alexi, he bangs the barrels, with the energy that causes the crowds to go crazy, “I’ve drummed off and on my whole life but it wasn’t until Izzy and I started the band that I took it seriously. I’m from the mean streets of grand terrace (not really, super quiet neighborhood) I’m seventeen so kids can do this shit too! Shout out to hatred for always digging us and All the locals that commute to wherever we play” say Alexi.
Their music is formed from a more darker subject they have an anti-Christian song called Reality, it’s mainly about Izzy’s views on Christian/catholic religion. Other songs such as dying and death which has to do with the desire of death. They would consider themselves a satanic based band, Izzy says, “I aim for more dark chords and heaviest notes when I write music”. If you’ve ever seen Voltage play at a show we’ll then you know they burn bibles during their set. The meaning to this is “fuck Christianity cause we live reality” as Alexi explains it. As for Izzy “ Well I went to a church called, Gateway Christian Fellowship, filled with the world's most ignorant, filthy, fake and phony fucking Christians alive! They make me sick to my fucking stomach! Basically I don't burn the bible to blasphemies God... I burn the bible to offend every ignorant Christian. I want to offend them because they offended me by saying "Satan has bewitched you"........ or everyone in. Our scene are " a bunch of idiot teens that are going to hell" you know basic Christian BS. Long story short burning the bible is just to offend Christians.” At future shows be sure to bring a bible to burn! Speaking of shows, Izzy and alexi told me what their favorite shows to play at. Alexi said “a show in Perris a while back, fastest pits ever. Also the groovy degenerates show in Moval, we had a wall of death it was sick!”. The name voltage was made up by Izzy, he wanted a short name that sounded cool, or the corresponded to their sound of music. They’re still on and off for a band name because unfortunately “Voltage” is already being used. So if you have any other suggestions be sure to hit them up on Instagram!
I asked a few of their fans on what they thought about Voltage and here’s what they had to say. “I found out about them through a friend, and my favorite thing about them is the raining blood cover they always do:)) and the member are such cool people!l voltage:))” (@cokena1lz).” I discovered voltage by a friend of mine and went to show when Izzy invited me. I saw these guys and thought they were pretty wild, just their theme. My favorite song by them is "Reality". Their scene their costumes. I'd really like to see them again and hang with Izzy, he's a chill dude :)” says (@memes.and.music573).” I discovered voltage at a show they were playing in moval, my first impression of them was that they were badass and they had sick pits haha and I hella vibed with their music, they ended up being my favorite band out of the lineup.” (@gudthrift). “My friend Shay told me about the band and said they were gonna be playing at jesus’ birthday show so I thought I would check them out, I have only heard them like over video never live so I was pretty excited and when I saw them I was amazed at how hardcore they are!! I love that about them as far as their songs not sure I have a favorite but I do love their cover of “raining blood”. I also like that fact that they aren’t just some fandoms that wanted to start a band the lead singer and the drummer are bestfriends and that was cool” (@groovyxkc).
As for what I think of voltage, I’ve seen these dudes play a couple of times and let me just say they bring the biggest crowds, the energy is crazy! I actually witnessed them do a couple of book burnings and it was kind of funny because I heard a girl screaming to put it out. Both Alexi and Izzy are really nice dudes I recommend to say hi or just get to know the dudes. They have a show coming up on March 9 in Perris be sure to check out their Instagram for more info!
