Tidal The Wave is an Alternative Indie Rock Band from Baldwin Park, California. They consist of four members,
Chris Guillien ( Vocals/Guitar/Bass )
Arnold Guillen ( Guitar/Bass )
Gabriel Guillen ( Drums/Backup Vocals )
Elias Cheshewalla ( Bass/Guitar )
Since they were young they've always listened to music. It wasn't until they picked up some instruments that they learned to put what was in their mind out there. “The music won't stop, we're always creating” says Arnold. Chris, Arnold, and Gabriel are brothers but where they met Elias is in school, they all graduated from Mark Keppel High School. “We’re all chill, real, and approachable people! If you'd like to get to know us a little more, add our personal accounts on Instagram and if you ever catch us at our shows, don't be shy to say hi!”.
Growing up they listened to Hip-Hop and Rock with artist such as Tupac, N.W.A, Caifanes, Led Zeppelin, Queen, and The Rolling Stones. “All, at least in our opinion, pretty legendary artists with a message. Just like everyone we mentioned, we got something to say as well and that's also what inspires us to continue to make music”.
Chris is the lyrical genius, he writes all of Tidal The Wave’s songs. What helps him the most is being efficient in english and literature. The band makes their own music, “It goes from our head, to our instruments, and then presenting it during rehearsals. It all blooms and forms naturally from there”. When you listen to their music they want to pull you into another dimension. The meaning of the music has to do with past lives, past loves, current and future along with its triumphs and heartbreaks. The main meaning is to remind you that you're alive and you need to celebrate it! Someone who helped them get big in the scene was Arnold's girlfriend, Lauren, she had been following a band named Te Adoro. They were looking for a slot to fill in so she sent them to their way. They want to give a big shout out to Lily from Te Adoro for filling them in and helping them play their first show at the Lexington Bar. It gave them motivation to play and put themselves out there more. Another person they'd like to thank is Basrev who helped them throw their first show at the Rockaway House. Their biggest thank you goes out to their listeners, families, and friends that support them!
The first time I seen Tidal The Wave live was at a show in Bloomington, I knew very little about them but the set they played was absolutely incredible and filled with so much energy. After that i've been hooked on seeing them live any chance i could get. If you want to experience an amazing set and have the time of your life their next show is on December 29 at the Fox Theater Pomona with Portamento and The Socials foxpomonanewyearsparty.eventbrite.com/ . Also You can find their music on Soundcloud, Spotify, and Itunes!
