Delete Insert _Super Group

Delete insert is an instrumental band that creates musical compositions. Jonah is the creator of Delete Insert, he wrote their first songs himself (Woe, I Don’t Know What to Call This Song, Goodbye, Losing it, Lo-Fi for the Wi-Fi, Bland, and Functional Dysfunction).

Both Jonah and his brother Josiah grew up listening to classical rock such as the legends Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie and many other amazing artist. Jonah began playing guitar at the age of 6, and Josiah began playing drums at the age of 3-4. Their whole family revolves around music. His dad plays bass and many of his family members such as his uncles and cousins play instruments as well.

From elementary to high school both Jonah and Josiah were in Symphonic and Jazz band. They eventually met Jacob Leon and Marco Rodriguez in their high school  jazz band. Before this Jonah was in a band called “Forth” with Jacob and Marco. Jonah had a music class in college which is where he met Carlos.Jonah had a very specific reason on why he started writing music, “I was always around it and I love music so much that it inspired me to make my own music”. His first show was when a friend named Jacob hit him up to play his show, the only problem was at the time  he didn’t have a band just himself. He asked some friends that knew how to play his music to perform with him at the show, after that the band was set. Jonah’s cousin Zach from ‘The Sweats’ was the first drummer to “help get the project off the ground” and also Trey Walper who was the original bassists. Life happens and some things came up, so now Josiah (Jonah’s brother) plays the drums for him and a longtime friend Jacob Leon plays bass. Ever since the band was formed they all collectively write the music.

“Our music is whatever people want it to be about. It's not subjective. That's part of why we don't have a singer because we want people to feel the soundscapes and make people think of what they're feeling at that moment when they're listening. The moment a song has lyrics, you're going to think and feel what the singer is presenting. We want people to feel and think on their own.” Their inspiration to write music comes from personal life issues, most of the band members have deep feeling towards life and what revolves around it. The meaning of the song come from the emotions (whether it's happiness, depression, anxiousness, melancholiness, etc…). “It all comes from our inner selves”.

Their favorite show they played at was the Hi-Hat in LA, a show Utopian threw, the Fox theatre rooftop in Pomona thrown by LOC productions. They played at many Vertigo Volumes shows “Shout out to these guys for taking a chance on us and giving us some coverage and for getting us great gigs”.

Without the people, there’s no Delete Insert”

Hearing delete insert for the first time was magic in my ears, and I’m not exaggerating. It’s the perfect music to listen on a calm and breezy day, just to relax and get away from things ya feel? It’s instrumental music but in a way I can feel what they feel (if that makes sense). It's amazing because they don’t need lyrics to make a person feel some type of way. I really want everyone to go check them out on SoundCloud they have amazing music you won’t regret it, also they have a new album coming out soon! They also have merch on their Instagram @deleteinsertband or the website is www.deleteinsert.shop go cop a sick ass shirt I know I will soon <3
