Aaron Casas (King Of The I.E)

Aaron Casas, an underground rapper from the IE, began rapping when he was twelve years old,
free styling to empty parts of songs that were playing in the radio, “Imagining I was in the song
with them” says Aaron. At the age of 15 he began recording music in a free studio at his High
School.

At first he wrote music for fun, but as he
continued he noticed that he rapped
about his personal problems,
“For the lack of better terms, music is
my therapist”. Before getting anyone to
notice his music, Aaron was anti social
and kept his feelings bottled up, writing
music was his way of expressing his
emotions.
His biggest support system was Chris
(@chris_thedrummer). When they were
in high school they always talked about their future and how they wanted to be big in the music
industry “For him to still believe in me is insane”. The first person to record him was Common
Knowledge. He pushed him to get better in his vocals and to stay on beat, which helped him
sharpen his skill set. Julio is his main engineer who teaches him new things. DJ Rene has
played for every show they have performed at, he was the first person Aaron ever showed his
raps to “we’ve been rolling ever since”. Of course he has many other supporters, he thanks and
appreciates everyone that believes in him.
Aaron writes his own music, which is one of the reasons he enjoys making it. His music is about
whatever he’s feeling at the moment whether it’s him growing up in the IE, love/heartbreaks, or
real life problem (politics, hard labor, family, death, etc…) “Sometimes, I just rap to prove to you
that no one can out rap me. No one can rhyme what I’m rhyming right now. And it’s hopeless if
you even try. Sometimes you gotta puff your chest out a bit. Competition is a part of why I do
this”.
His favorite show he performed at was his very first one, it was at his homegirl Diana’s house.
This show was hosted by Chris, all proceeds went to St. Jude’s hospital for cancer research.
The reactions he received while performing were astonishing, it made him want to keep going.
As for Aaron, he would describe himself as a good person that’s been hurt so many times “I
carry those scars and put them on my sleeves”. Born and raised from the IE, “I guess I would
qualify as a sad locals club myself”. Rather than wanting to leave the IE, as other artist would
say, he wouldn’t be ashamed to build something there and give hope to others. “This is the IE,
this the 48, this is the 9, and I’m going to rep that until all these shout raps fries my vocal cords”.
He recently just came out with a new project called “Still here: the deluxe sessions” which is
currently out on SoundCloud. It’s a really great album, he talks about some real problems and if
you can relate to them then they’ll make you feel some type of way. My favorite song has to be
Death Of Me, listen to the lyrics they were really well written.
Once again my names Erica, thank you so much for reading I really appreciate every single one
of you!
