Smelly Boiz$
Birote the Musical is a folk/punk band from a trap house in San Dimas, California. They’re a three piece band, Panchito (Bass), Neil (Guitar/Trumpet Vocals), and Chowie (Drums). They all met at a really young age. Music is what brought them together, “We love each other and we love writing music together no matter how bad we stink”. Birote the Musical believe in kindness and writing from their hearts, and their guts no matter how weird it may come out. The meaning to their music comes from what they experienced in the past, “just told through storytelling, and we smell like socks”. Creating music is what made them feel whole, they did what made them happy. When asked what inspires them to write music they replied with “we don't really need inspiration to write music we need more inspiration to get up to go to work everyday” and I think we can all agree with them as well. The people who cared for their music are the ones who helped them get big in the scene. So anyone who came out to show support at their shows, listen to their music shout out to you dudes! One of the shows they enjoyed playing at was The Smells 21st birthday show, “that show felt like a dream, but in that dream we still smelled really bad”.
Birote the musical makes music that I find so unique. It’s the type of music where you think “dude what’s all this noise, but I lowkey dig it”. In the song “What’s real Tsubasa” I like the way they tell their lyrics in storytelling while the drums are lightly tapping and the guitar gently plays in the background, it's fucking amazing. Apparently they smell bad but man do they make some great music. If you’ve never heard their music then you’re missing out big time, go check out their latest album “Melon Sharing on My Dishwasher Break” on Spotify, SoundCloud, and Bandcamp!
